A Poetry Exhibit with Adrienne S. Wallner

Local Northwoods Poet, Adrienne S. Wallner, author of “To the 4am Light”, shares this special poetry exhibition with LOLA Arts. From journal scribblings to the polished poem, “Pages & Poems” allows for an intimate glimpse into the author’s writing process. In this unique exhibit, viewers are invited to page through collections of journal entries, revisions, and feedback assembled to reflect the journey of each displayed poem from inspiration to completion.  Also featured are images of several journal covers adorned and decorated by the author.

The exhibit includes twelve hanging scrolls with the text of 9 poems from Adrienne’s poetry collection, “To the 4am Light”  

Featured poems include:

“To the 4 a.m. Light”
“Night Thaw”
“Judith in my Living Room”
“Disquiet”
“4th of July Family Reunion”
“Clarity”
“Syncopation”
“April”
“Surveying the Damage”

There will also be ten “pages” booklets composed of the journal pages and revisions for the corresponding poem. These are hung to the left of the poem in such a fashion that they can be picked up and paged through by the viewer, then placed back on the hook. It depicts the process of compiling her manuscript, submitting, and the publishing process.

Join us for the “Pages and Poems” Reception

Join us at the LOLA Arts Gallery on the evening of Tuesday February 28th at 5pm for a reception for Adrienne S. Wallner’s exhibit “Pages and Poems.”

Celebrate the writing process and journey the works have gone on, from humble sketchbook pages to published poems. Light refreshments and snacks will be served.

And join us after in the same space for Poetry and Prose Open Mic, led by Adrienne. Come share or listen.

Poet Bio

Adrienne S. Wallner is a poet and teaching artist. Her poetry has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and can be found in the Aurorean, Stoneboat Literary Journal, Straight Forward Poetry, Uncommon Core: Contemporary Poems for Learning and Living, Minerva Rising, New Verse News and elsewhere. Her debut poetry book To the 4 a.m. Light was published by Finishing Line Press.

In 2022, Adrienne opened for internationally renowned poet Rupi Kaur and presented several poetry art exhibitions in Wisconsin. Adrienne holds a BA in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing from St. Norbert College and an MFA in Creative Writing with an emphasis in Poetry from the University of Southern Maine Stonecoast Program. She is very excited to host this event and is looking forward to hearing everyone’s work!
