Winter 2025 Mini-Concerts

The Winter Mini-Concert Series is a new, free, family-friendly event that brings the warmth of community to your Saturday afternoons. Enjoy a variety of local and regional musicians performing in an intimate, hour-long session from 2 to 3 p.m. Whether you're looking to relax with soothing melodies or tap your feet to lively tunes, this series offers something for everyone. Join us for these cozy, live performances this winter season!

Mini-Concerts Northern Lyre Trio

 

The Northern Lyre Trio, established in the cities of Ashland,WI and Ironwood, MI, is comprised of Neil Paynter (piano), Andrew McInnes (violin), and Kirk McBrayer (cello).  The trio has been playing together since 2019, performing repertoire that represents Romantic piano trios from less known composers. Outside of trio performances, they perform regularly with the Garland City Chamber Players, the Garland Consort, and the Big Lake Orchestra.

Mini-Concerts Loreta Maciulis

 

Loreta Maciulis, a lifelong lover of music from Lithuania, is a singer, composer, teacher, soloist, and conductor. She is currently a chorus member of the Chicago Lithuanian Opera Company. After studying at the music conservatory in Kaunas, Loreta performed at church and festivals, taught at a boys' choir school, and moved to Chicago in 2000, where she became a U.S. citizen.

Loreta has taught music at the Suburban Chicago Lithuanian Saturday School and performed as a soloist in Lithuania, Chicago, Australia, and Los Angeles. She has produced six CDs and composed the hymn "My Prayer," sung at Pope John Paul’s visit to Lithuania.

 

Mini-Concerts Local Legends of Brass

 

The 'Local Legends of Brass' is a brass quintet that brings vibrant brass music to a wide range of events, from weddings and religious services to secular and patriotic holidays—and even the occasional hockey game. Their diverse repertoire spans genres from the 18th to the 21st century, showcasing their versatility and passion for music. Formed in 2023, the group is made up of talented musicians from Oneida and Vilas counties who share a love for all types of music. They rehearse regularly at the Sayner Community Church. Members include Larry Chamberlain (St. Germain), Robin Peterson (Three Lakes), John Brenholt (Phelps), Manson Morris (Minocqua), and Paul Saltzgiver (Land O' Lakes).
