Escape the winter chill and join us in the LOLA Gallery Room for Open Mic nights, hosted by local favorites Bret Miller (music) and Adrienne S. Wallner (poetry). Come as an audience member and enjoy live music and poetry, or share your own talent with the community. It's a cozy evening filled with creativity, perfect for brightening the season.

Join us for a free, family-friendly Acoustic Open Mic Night and Jam Session with Bret Miller on Tuesday, February 18, from 6:00–7:30 pm in the LOLA Coffee House (Gallery Room). The evening starts with a potluck at 5:30 pm, followed by open mic performances and a jam session.

Whether you want to listen, perform, or join the jam session, this event is for you! Bring your instrument or use ours (guitar, soprano ukelele, upright piano, cajon and small percussion instruments), and enjoy free coffee and tea.

We are excited to welcome back local author and poet Adrienne S. Wallner to host our Poetry Open Mic in celebration of National Poetry Month this April. Join us in the LOLA Coffee House (Gallery Room) on Thursday, April 24th, for this wonderful community event. Whether you’re sharing a piece of your own writing or a favorite work by another author, all are welcome. The evening begins with a potluck at 5:30 pm, followed by the Open Mic from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. This family-friendly event will also feature complimentary coffee and tea. We hope to see you there!

Adrienne is a writer, photographer, teaching artist, traveler, and nature enthusiast.  She holds a B.A. in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing from St. Norbert College and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing with an emphasis in Poetry from the University of Southern Maine-Stonecoast. She has been a National Park Ranger, youth advocate, wilderness instructor, grant writer, teacher, and editor.  Her poetry collection “To the 4 a.m. Light” was published by Finishing Line Press and her work has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize.

Adrienne is Co-Vice President of the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets.  In 2022 she was an Opening Poet for internationally renowned poet Rupi Kaur and a guest teacher at the Oscar Wilde House for Western Connecticut State University’s Dublin Residency.  Her poetry has been exhibited at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center SOCIAL Studio, the Wausau Center for Visual Arts, the LOLA Gallery, Unwind in Woodruff, and by Roche Gallery & Writer’s Studio.  Adrienne’s poetry is currently on display at Isle Royale National Park in Rock Harbor and aboard the NPS Ranger III as part of the park’s “Support Superior” Marine Debris Awareness exhibit, funded by the National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration.

Born in Milwaukee, Adrienne lives in Northwoods of Wisconsin. She is very excited to host Open Mic again and is looking forward to hearing everyone’s work! You can find more information about Adrienne and her work at inkinthebranches.com.
