2015 Lola Arts Scholarship Winners
2015 Scholarship Winners

As part of our commitment to community enrichment, Land O’ Lakes Area Artisans (LOLA) provides scholarships each year to local students that are interested in attending camp at UW-Stevens Point Camp College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC). The mission of Camp COFAC is to “develop  and nurture young musicians by helping them to discover new literature, techniques and ideas while fostering confidence and enthusiasm”. Students benefit greatly from this week-long immersion into the musical arts  at the Noel Fine Arts Center in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. The camp is open to students in 9th – 12th grade and graduating seniors each June. This is an opportunity for the students to do a concentrated study on the ‘major’ of their choice, including options like piano, violin, percussion, guitar and voice. UW-Stevens Point music faculty work hand-in-hand with campers, along with the camp counselors, music majors ready to share their passion for the fine arts. This time with experienced musicians and students that share a passion can be very inspiring for the students, opening their eyes to new possibilities and techniques and preparing them for their college journey. At the conclusion of the week, camper’s join together to perform a concert for family and friends.
