2024 Fundraiser Banner

Get ready for our Summer Fundraiser, "Earthly Expressions," back at Lowenwood this year!

Dr. Cindy Conlon will lead a special pre-event Shinrin-yoku (Forest Bathing experience) for a limited number of people, exploring the stunning trails surrounding the event location. This unique experience will culminate in the creation of a collaborative nature mandala, unveiled right at the start of the fundraiser!  Register today to be one of 20 people to add this free experience to your fundraiser ticket.

Shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing, entails leisurely walking through the forest, engaging all five senses at a gentle pace. This mindful practice is known to reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep quality, ignite creativity, and enhance attention.  If you aren't able to be part of the Shinrin-yoku experience, you will still be able to chat with Dr. Conlon from 5 to 6:30 to learn more about the concept and benefits of this rejuvenating practice. She is a lawyer, college professor, yoga instructor, and certified Forest Therapy Guide (through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy: https://www.anft.earth/). She has offered well-being classes at Northwestern University, Aurora University and Carroll University. Learn more about her at: https://www.eagleriveryoga.com/

We can’t do it without your help and the summer fundraiser is a great way to have a lovely evening in support of LOLA.

What does this fundraiser do for LOLA?

Our summer fundraiser is our biggest donation event of the year. The money collected during this fundraiser goes to many of the events we champion. Arts Education..we raise money for a variety of programming, keeping costs low for participants, especially children. Community Arts Events…great music events call for great musicians, and we pay those musicians so they can provide enrichment and vibrancy to the Northwoods.

This year we are raising money for

Homeschool Art & Music Program

Youth Art Month Exhibit Frames

Summer Teaching Intern Program

Winter Mini-Concert Series (new!)

Winter Artist-in-Residency Program (new!)

This video is why we do what we do. Support arts education and enrichment.
