Fall into winter watercolor workshoos

These two seasons of the year are the opposite in temperatures one can paint most

of the time. This workshop involves the student in mixing temperatures of color.

On the first day of class, the color wheel will be explained and how to mix color in

various ways for a warm palette of color. On the second day, the color wheel will

again be used to have everyone understand a cool color palette and how it can be

used in snow scenes. Temperatures become an essential part of creating the illusion

of distance.

You will learn and understand the underlying principles of fundamentals of:

  • The temperatures of the colors
  • Values of color
  • Hues
  • Intensities of color

All these are essential elements of color, and one must understand how they work

together and apart.

My personal photos will be used in this workshop.

Artist Bio: Dale is an award-winning watercolorist and teacher who is passionate about capturing the raw beauty of the American landscape with the fluid stroke of a brush. Dale was 80% blind 45 years ago, but after a cyst removed from his brain, and his vision fully restored (and having to learn to walk and write again) he discovered he could see more clearly, with his paintings reflecting a purity of perception.
