Artist Sue Brucks-Schurch will guide you as you create your own acrylic painting on a piece of prepared birch tree bark that will include a wire display hanger. Choose a chickadee, cardinal, or blue jay bird to be the focal point. If time permits, paint a few different pieces. All birch tree bark will be unique sizes. Select your birch bark piece(s) upon arrival to class.
About the Artist – Sue Brucks-Schurch owns Blossoms Studio in Land O’ Lakes, which she opened in 2001. Working in acrylic paint, she paints and wood burns on found objects and new wood. Sue loves to find old barn wood and antique furniture as surfaces for her work. She is on the Northwoods Art Tour, sells her work at Moondeer & Friends in Boulder Junction and Cluck the Chicken Store in Paoli, WI. Sue graduated from UW-Madison with a major in art. According to Sue, “I have been painting since I was a child, and continually brought old “stuff” home. My work is fun and functional.”
