Join local artist Tom Strobel on Friday afternoons in the downstairs classroom for a Beading Foundations group from 1-3pm beginning Nov 11th. (We will host this drop-in for four Fridays to start with, to gauge interest.) 

Everyone is welcomed! If you’ve never beaded before or if you’re a seasoned pro, this is for you. A free art group (we even supply all the materials!) to come create in a fun place. There will be four different days as we gauge interest. Sign up for whichever day(s) work for you.

Coffee, tea, and a snack plus the beading supplies that you need to get going will be available. Students need to be able to sketch and bring a picture of a butterfly, bird, or animal to use as their sketching prompt.  Once they have sketched their desired project onto the foundation material, Tom will show each student how to begin the beading, starting with a circle. 

*This will be offered as a free workshop – please sign up so we know we have enough supplies! 

Students will work at their own pace, with instruction from Tom.  The attached photos are examples of some of his recent work.  

Instructors bio 

Land O’ Lakes resident Tom Strobel makes and sells beadwork, baskets, spirit staffs, moccasins, necklaces, and war clubs.  His work is for sale at the Trading Post in Land O’ Lakes.
