Alternative Art

Lead by Art Intern Megan, this weekly Wednesday class uses non-traditional art materials and methods to create unique art pieces. Ages 12+, students ages 7-11 will need adult participant.

$10 per class, $15 for two family members to take the class, or $50 per person for all seven classes.

Sketchbook Making 

June 29th       1:30-4pm 

Create your own personalized sketchbook to fill this summer! With a variety of binding techniques, paper, covers and your creativity the possibilities are endless!

 

Cyanotype 

July 6th       1:30-4PM

Create unique one of a kind cyanotypes using the sun! This unique process leaves you with a beautiful cyan blue that can be painted and drawn over later!

 

Woven Wall Hanging

July 13th       1:30-4pm

Create a unique textile wall hanging using yarn, fabric, beads or anything you can think of to weave into your project.

 

Scrap Wood Wall Animals 

July 20th       1:30-4pm 

Create a unique animal out of upcycled wood, paint, hardware and wire! Your animal can hang, sit or stand and be whatever you can imagine. 

 

Wind Chimes 

July 27th       1:30-4pm 

Create a personalized wind chime with driftwood, paint, string, beads and more for you to create a unique hanging sculpture! 

 

String and Nail Art

August 3rd      1:30-4pm

A unique twist on the class wood, nail and string art! Using multiple colors, layering and wrapping patterns, students will make one of a kind wall hangings! 

 

Collage Crazy!

August 10th      1:30-4pm

Learn to tell a story with your collage work using multimedia! Freel free to bring your own objects and images to add or use the vast variety of materials offered in the studio!

• LOLA Arts has lifted its mask requirement for in-person events and classes effective May 23rd, 2022.  LOLA visitors and students who want to wear a mask are more than welcome to do so. Moving forward, any mask or COVID-19 precaution policies or changes to current policies will align with the CDC recommendations based on COVID-19 community levels.
• Refund Policy – No refunds will be given after the registration deadline. Classes will only be cancelled due to weather if Northland Pines School district cancels.
