About LOLA
Land O’ Lakes Area Arts (LOLA) is a community arts organization located in the scenic Northwoods of Wisconsin. Our mission is to promote and support the arts through accessible and enriching programming for people of all ages. We serve communities in Northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan by offering year-round opportunities in visual arts, performing arts, music, and more.
Position Summary
LOLA seeks a dynamic, visionary, and community-oriented Program Director to lead the organization into its next phase of growth and impact. This role oversees LOLA’s operations, programs, fundraising, communications, and facilities, while maintaining alignment with our mission. The Program Director works collaboratively with the Board of Directors, staff, and community partners to ensure LOLA’s sustainability, visibility, and creative vitality.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Development
- Lead annual fundraising campaigns, donor cultivation, and fundraising events.
- Guide and/or participate in grant writing and management activities.
Program Oversight
- Shape the vision and direction of LOLA’s artistic and educational programming.
- Ensure programming is high-quality, relevant, and mission-driven.
Marketing & Communications
- Manage marketing strategies and maintain LOLA’s brand identity.
- Oversee communication with stakeholders through digital and in-person outreach.
Community Engagement
- Build and maintain partnerships with schools, civic groups, and regional organizations.
- Host and attend community meetings to promote LOLA’s work and listen to local needs.
- Recruit and supervise volunteers to support events and programming.
Organizational Leadership
- Develop and manage LOLA’s annual budget with support from the Board Treasurer.
- Hire, train, and supervise staff, including the Marketing & Communications Coordinator and seasonal interns.
- Support board development and ensure nonprofit governance best practices.
Facilities Management
- Oversee the daily operations of LOLA’s physical space to ensure safety, accessibility, and functionality.
- Coordinate improvements and manage vendor relations as needed.
Evaluation & Reporting
- Implement tools to evaluate program effectiveness and community impact.
- Analyze data and provide regular reports to the Board and funders.
Ideal Candidate Will Have
- A passion for the arts and community engagement
- Experience in nonprofit leadership, arts administration, or a related field
- Strong skills in fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations
- A collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience managing staff, volunteers, and budgets
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the rural arts ecosystem
Compensation
