Suitable for AGES 10 – 15

COST:     $110 per student – 11 classes

Tue – July 9   9:00 – 10:30 a.m.  Preliminary meeting w/students. Meet with the instructor and learn how funny you are!

Friday, Aug 2   Final Dress Rehearsal  –  2:30 p.m. 

4 p.m. performance 

 

These classes are designed to be a fun introduction into theatrical comedy.  Mr. Libby will lead students on an exploration of character study and stock comedic characters.  His workshop methods, with student’s creative input, will result in a comedic story line for a final production.  Students will learn how to develop characters, methods for improvisation, stretch their imagination, explore theatrical movements, and develop a writing structure for their final performance.

Originally from Racine, Wisconsin, Jeffrey followed up his undergraduate degree from the UW system by earning a M.F.A. (Master of Fine Arts) in Acting from the California Institute of the Arts in ’96.  Jeffrey became a member of the Screen Actors Guild in ’99 and enjoyed a career in Hollywood for many years.  Wanting to reconnect with his Wisconsin roots, Jeffrey and his wife Catherine brought their two boys to the north woods to be back in nature.  Jeffrey and Catherine are both teachers for the Northland Pines School District.  Jeffrey is an Advisor at SOAR Charter Middle School in Land O’ Lakes and is a zealous advocate for the Arts in Education.
