Instructor Bio:

Cathy Lowery has been enjoying baking bread for 50 years. When she retired and moved to the U.P. of MI, she began making ALL of her family’s bread; rolls, buns, English muffins, and lots of sourdough bread. She has taught many of her neighbors how to make sourdough bread. Her hobbies include wilderness canoe camping, backpacking, cribbage, Mahjongg, and baking new and different loaves of bread.

Cindy Welter, a good friend, and neighbor of Cathy’s is fortunate to be able to sample her delicious bread. She decided she wanted to learn how to make sourdough bread and with Cathy’s help and support, has perfected the art of making it.  It is a joyful experience for her!

Her other interests include cooking, playing Mahjongg, reading, sewing, kayaking, and enjoying the serenity and beauty of living in the Northwoods; a place she has called home for 21 years.
