We will cover the basic techniques from warping to weaving to finishing a colorful weaving all in a short workshop. You’ll be ready to weave more pieces on your little loom at home after you complete this workshop!
Instructor: Mary Burns is an award-winning fiber artist and master weaver. She weaves custom-designed jacquard weavings and wall pieces in addition to felting, natural dyeing and eco-printing. Mary’s Ancestral Women Exhibit features woven portraits of an elder from each of Wisconsin’s 12 Native tribes along with 12 complementary weavings, the exhibit has traveled nationally. She is currently working on the Women and Water Exhibit, with woven portraits of women from around the world. She teaches tapestry weaving, felting, and eco-printing/natural dyeing workshops.
