Beginner Acrylic Painting Class Loon Lake
Artwork by Sue Brucks-Schurch

No experience necessary.  All Materials Supplied.  Bring a bag lunch.  Dress for fun mess!

Guest Artist Sue Brucks-Schruch will return to LOLA to teach students the basics of acrylic painting.  Each student will receive a 11 x 14 wood plaque with hanger, that has a wood burned image ready for  paint.  Sue will demonstrate paint application, brush strokes, color mixing and simple shading to complete the painting.  According to Sue, “Even though each person has the same image to work from as a guide, all the paintings will turn out so very different.  Students are choosing colors they like and using strong or soft brush strokes to give it personality, each plaque will be unique to the person painting it.”

Sue created Blossoms Studio, Land O’ Lakes, in 2001.  She paints and wood burns on found objects and new wood.  Sue loves to find old wood, barn wood and antique furniture.  Her studio is open to the public twice a year during the Northwoods Art Tour and by appointment.  She also sells her work at Cluck the Chicken Gallery in Paoli, WI.   Sue states, “I have been painting since I was a child, and continually dragged old “stuff” home. I graduated from UW-Madison with a major in art in 1979. My work is fun and functional.”

Deadline for registration/payment is January 11.
