Julia Cohen

Marketing Communications

As a proud lifelong resident of the Northwoods, Julia understands our deep-rooted spirit and sense of place from lived experience. She was born and raised in Rhinelander (go Hodags!) and now lives in a humble home in Phelps with her husband where they enjoy watching wildlife and exploring the woods.

Julia has over a decade of diverse, experiential history in community-focused and purpose-driven roles, including five years as a university lecturer in the visual arts department of the University of Wisconsin System. This role allowed Julia to help cultivate the journey of educational enrichment for each individual student to grow to their full potential. Julia earned a Master of Arts in Art History from the University of Toronto and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art & Art History from DePaul University in Chicago.

Julia is a trained metalsmith and creates sterling silver jewelry inspired by the natural beauty of the Northwoods. She believes that meaningful engagement through art and artistic expression can serve as a powerful conduit to authentically build value and develop meaningful connections to enhance the lives of everyone in our community. As the Marketing and Communications Coordinator at LOLA Arts, Julia looks forward to helping our community grow and thrive.
