The Art of Zentangle®

Join us for an introduction to Zentangle®—a relaxing and mindful drawing method created by artists Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas. Using simple tools like a pencil, fine paper, and pen, you’ll learn to build intricate patterns through easy, repetitive strokes. The small size of the paper (the tile) makes it both portable and able to be done in a short amount of time.  With no expectation of shape or orientation, small areas are filled with patterns, one section at a time. This is followed by shading and a signature at the end. 

No drawing experience needed—just a willingness to explore. This 8-step process is designed to be calming, judgment-free, and doable in a short amount of time.

This class will be taught by Certified Zentangle® Teacher (CZT) Victoria Grundy.

In this session, you’ll:

• Learn the basics of the Zentangle® method
  
• See inspiring examples
  
• Create your first Zentangle® tile step-by-step
  
• Reflect and share in a closing gratitude moment
  

Surprisingly simple, endlessly creative—come see what you can draw! All supplies are included in the intro class. Students will leave with a Sakura fine point pen and a shading pencil to continue their Zentangle® journey at home.

Victoria is a professionally trained artist currently working with watercolor, ink, and acrylic. She serendipitously discovered Zentangle® in a magazine article and has been fascinated with the artform since. In 2014, Victoria obtained certification to teach the Zentangle® to others and has taught locally for 5 years. Her Zentangle® artwork is published in two books as well as with an established marker company. Victoria enjoys sharing the mesmerizing and meditative Zentangle® process with others.

• If a class is canceled a full refund will be issued. 
• Refunds will not be issued after the registration date closes.
• Students who request a refund prior to the registration deadline will be given the option of receiving the full amount in the form of a gift certificate for future classes OR a refund for the balance minus a $5.00 service fee.
