CREATE A NEW LOOK USING ACRYLIC PAINT

Create a new look for an old piece of furniture (a chair, wheelbarrow, paddle, trunk, milk can, old school desk,  stool, etc)  by decorating it with acrylic paint.  Make sure your piece of furniture is small enough to transport upstairs if need be. We are hoping to paint outside but will move inside if the weather is not cooperative. On the day of the class, Sue Schurch will have all the supplies that you need to work on your project. You will leave class with a finished project except for varnishing which instructions will be provided on how to do at home.

About the Artist – Sue Schurch owns Blossoms Studio in Land O’ Lakes, which she opened in 2001. Working in acrylic paint, she paints and wood burns on found objects and new wood. Sue loves to find old barn wood and antique furniture as surfaces for her work. She is on the Northwoods Art Tour, sells her work at Moondeer & Friends in Boulder Junction and Cluck the Chicken Store in Paoli, WI. Sue graduated from UW-Madison with a major in art.

Optional 25-Minute Activity –

During lunch break, ACE Certified Personal Trainer Erin Luoto, will assist in gentle static and dynamic stretches to maintain flexibility and help relieve muscular tension. Increase blood flow, rejuvenate, and open nerve pathways to your articulating & creative hands to better serve your body & mind.

Students Suggestions –
Wear smock, apron or other appropriate clothing
Pack a bag lunch.
