Learn the copper foil method of stained glass while creating your own 6.5 x 8.5 inch, 2.5 ft tall Stained Glass Garden Stake.  Go through the whole process of cutting glass, grinding, and piecing together with solder step-by-step with Patty. There will be  practice time built in to work on cutting glass and solder techniques. Choose from one of three patterns,  choose your own colors and beads (if you desire) and finish your project on day two by soldering the bars together. All tools and supplies will be provided. This is a two six hour per day workshop. Students should bring lunch or something to eat during break.

Students should wear glasses/safety glasses and an N95 mask while cutting and grinding glass. LOLA will provide clear face shields and N95 masks, but feel free to bring your own if you’d prefer. Long hair should be pulled back and refrain from wearing dangly jewelry.

Instructor bio: Patty Valoe is an avid stained glass artist whose interest in stained glass started 40 years ago. This interest took a backseat while she worked full-time and raised her family but since retiring in 2018, designing and making stained glass creations has taken center stage. Her projects have included Tiffany style lamps, windows, window hangings, and many Christmas ornaments. Patty moved to the UP full-time in March 2022, and has focused on sharing her enthusiasm for stained glass on projects for family and friends. She is looking forward to teaching others to experience the craft she loves.
