Erik has been spoon carving since 2013 and has been teaching greenwood spoon carving since 2016. Introduced to carving by his wife Michele, Erik and Michele have taken numerous carving classes and workshops on their spoon carving journey. Since 2016 Erik has taught many carving classes, both advanced and introductory.   As a carpenter, woodworker, and graduate with a BA in Studio Art from St Olaf College in Northfield MN, spoon carving has been the perfect way for Erik to explore the intersection of art and craft.  Erik currently hosts classes in spoon carving at the Audubon Park community center in Minneapolis, White Bear Center for the Arts in White Bear Lake, Duluth Folk School in Duluth, and at Marine Mills Folk School in Marine On St Croix.
