Monica Camara

Performing Arts Teaching Intern

Hi! I'm Monica, I've been active in gymnastics for 14 years, and teaching for over 2. I love art, music, and the outdoors, and I'm excited to be joining the community this summer.

Kelsey Rogers

Visual Arts Teaching Intern

Hi, my name is Kelsey Rogers, and I am currently a senior at Watersmeet Township School. I am an aspiring artist with a strong passion for creativity and education. I believe art has the power to open perspectives and connect people of all ages through self-expression. I am dedicated to encouraging others to explore their creativity, take risks, and grow through the artistic process. This fall, I will attend Northern Michigan University to pursue a degree in Art Education, where I hope to inspire, guide, and support future generations of artists.

LOLA is looking for 2027 Summer Arts Teaching Interns!

Share your creativity and passion for the arts and your talent through teaching.

Program Details

LOLA Arts seeks two Summer Teaching Interns for June–July 2027: one in visual arts and one in performing arts. Interns will design and lead classes primarily for children ages 7+, with some adult instruction opportunities.

Under the supervision of LOLA staff, interns will help develop curriculum, prepare materials, and deliver engaging arts programming. This internship provides hands-on teaching experience, mentorship in arts education, and work in a creative, community-focused environment.

"Teaching at LOLA gave me the confidence to run my own classroom. It was an adventure seeing kids, who had never experienced theatre before, trying and succeeding at it. The support you get along the way from the staff, board, and community makes you feel like you truly belong in Land O' Lakes. This internship was one of the best experiences of my life."

-Mary Sportiello

"My time teaching at LOLA was transformative in my education in nonprofit art organizations and how to be a well-rounded educator for the students. I will forever cherish the memories I made helping artists of all ages bring their creative ideas to life. The classroom was always filled with laughter, intention, support, and imagination, everything I could hope for and more in an internship. The people I met, educational opportunities, and memories I made at LOLA are priceless and I am so grateful for the experience."
