I will try and put up Tuesdays lesson the Friday before. Most of these classes SHOULD be just one session (but you know how time can get away..) but if your student misses one of a two day, they can absolutely take the other, I’ll have extras to catch them up, or give them materials so they can finish at home.

May 3rd
Students will see how to create a variety of 3D flowers out of paper to make a whole field of them!
April 26th
We will read a book about bugs and then learn all of the parts that make up an insect. Students will then collage using different papers to create their own bug.
April 19th
We will be talking about pollinators and the flight of the monarchs, and then be creating a monarch butterfly on a clothespin.
April 5th
We will be drawing April imagery (mud puddles, rain, umbrellas) with oil pastels, and then doing a fun resist where we blow bubbles out of watercolor.
March 29th
We will look at some of Dali’s eccentric artwork and then learn and draw self portraits.
March 15th
Using colored construction paper, students will use create a 3D hot air balloon and draw themselves in a basket.
March 1st and 8th
Students will use tissue paper two different ways to create seasonal drawings, exploring how tissue paper reacts and layers. First day will be tissue paper, second will be finishing.
Feb 15th and 22nd, “Color Mixing”
Using only the three primary colors and white, we will use what we learn about the color wheel and mixing colors to create an abstract painting. If students finish, they will do analogous colored with shapes.
Feb 8th, “Process Valentines”
Using many different materials and techniques to make a variety of Valentine inspired cards.
Feb 2nd, “Wayne Thiebaud Ice Cream Cones”
We will look at Wayne Thiebauds sweet treat artworks and use markers and watercolors to create an inspired ice cream cone.
January 25th, “Oil Pastel Watercolor Resist Hands”
Should be one day project..
We will be talking about lines, expression, and patterns, then using oil pastels and watercolor to create artwork reflecting self.
January 18th, “Winter Birds on Birch Trees”
One day project.
We will be reading “Snowballs”, and creating watercolor birds on ripped birch trees with a dotted snowy background.
January 11th, “Snowmen at Night”
One day project.
Read “Snowmen at Night” and create a mixed media art piece that focuses on form, mixing colors, and creativity.
