LOLA offers art classes to home school students on select Tuesdays starting in November and running until March. Classes are from 1-3 pm and suitable for students ages 5 – 16 (unless noted). Wendy Powalisz will lead the classes, with a few guest teachers. Cost of each class is $12 for an individual student or $10 each for siblings. Deadline for registration is one week prior to each class. See below for the home school class schedule.
November
5th Found Object Paintings – Canvas boards will be covered with a variety of found objects with a fall theme and then painted in the warm hues of autumn.
19th Thankful Leaves – Make marbled clay leaves to use as gifts with a message of gratitude.
December
10th Gilded Pinch Pots w/ Air Plants 2-Part Class – Part 1: Create pinch Pots with Artist Rita Kickert and take a spin on the pottery wheel.
17th Part 2: Gild the pot, paint it, and add the air plants.
January
7th Freestyle Chip Carving 2-Part Class – Students will make carvings on wood panels with Wood Carver John Modjewski.

4th Yay for Yeti’s – Create a soft sculpture snow friend from recycled materials.
18th Color Wheel Challenge – Students will be challenged to work with a variety of colorful objects, utilizing the color wheel for still life drawings and paintings.
