Reading, Journaling, Drawing, Painting and Collage
Led by Cindy Pesek, students will meet after school for 5 consecutive Wednesdays for an immersive study of the 2001 Newbery Honor Award book Because of Winn-Dixie by Kate DiCamillo.
Students will discuss characters, themes, the story and, the setting, journal thoughts and feelings about the story, and collectively produce a mural of the setting of the book.
About the Artist – Cindy Pesek is a retired music teacher who is also a theatre director, published author, fiber artist, jewelry maker, and former LOLA Arts board member. She sings and plays guitar, keyboard, ukulele, and percussion instruments in the Eclectic Trio. She is passionate about providing art experiences to the youth in our area.
Vaccinated students and instructors will not be required to wear masks or social distance, however, we respect if you choose to continue these practices. Masks may occasionally be required depending on circumstances.
