LOLA Arts Youth Summer Music 2021 Classes

Ukulele Circle June 29, 2021 – August 10, 2021
Tuesdays (1 PM – 2:30 PM) at LOLA Arts
$12 per class, registration required by the day before each class.

Ukulele instruments will be provided.  Ages 7 and up (Adults welcome to register too).

Discount Options:

  • $10 per class for two or more classes
  • $10 per student for more than one student in the same family

Tuesday afternoons are for ukulele playing!  Rylie Steele will lead a ukulele circle weekly in which students will learn a few chords and play some tunes together. No experience and no instrument needed!  Sign up for one or for all.

Instructor Bio:  Rylie Steele has completed her freshman year at Kent State University, majoring in Art education. She did an art apprenticeship at a gallery in her hometown in which she led art classes for children and adults and presented a solo show.  In her free time, she enjoys painting, playing the guitar, and hiking. In addition to teaching visual art classes at LOLA, she will also do a weekly ukulele circle.

 

Make Music Day Percussion Parade, June 21 10:30 AM  – 11 AM

All ages.  At LOLA Arts Building. Free. No registration required.

Help celebrate International Make Music Day by joining in a  parade with percussion instruments that will begin at LOLA Arts building and walk to the Land O’ Lakes Pavilion to signal the opening of Land O’ Lakes Interactive Sound Garden. Percussion instruments will be provided! Wear walking shoes.

Interactive Sound Garden, June 21 11 AM – 4 PM

All ages. At Land O’ Lakes Trail located behind the Northern Waters Museum. Free. No registration required.

For one day only (on Make Music Day), Land O’ Lakes will have an interactive sound garden exhibit. The exhibit will include poetry, photography, and music. Part of the exhibit will include specifically tuned wind chimes that participants will be able to play as they wander through the exhibit, making music.
