Youth Art Month Celebration & Exhibit

LOla celebrates national youth art month

2016 Youth Art Month Exhibit

This year’s exhibit will be held from March 9 through March 23.  Hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Each year LOLA hosts young artists from the Land O’ Lakes Elementary School, the SOAR Charter Middle School and area Home-Schooled children.  Over 100 works of art are framed and exhibited.  LOLA thanks Artistree Gallery for sharing in this event and giving wall-space for the children’s art.

The Council for Art Education (CFAE) administers Youth Art Month. Youth Art Month encourages support for quality school art programs, and promotes art material safety. The Council for Art Education (CFAE) administers the program at the national level. The program provides a medium for recognizing skills developed through visual arts experiences unlike any other curriculum subjects, including:

  • Problem solving
  • Creativity
  • Observation
  • Communication

Art shows, special exhibits, fundraisers, and school and community activities take place annually, traditionally during March, to celebrate visual art education for grades K – 12.

LOLA is happy once again to host the young artists for an opening reception on March 9 at the LOLA Center for the Arts, from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.  Visit the center, view the exhibit, talk with the young artists about their work and enjoy refreshments.

Free event open to all. No tickets are needed to attend Youth Art Month events.
