Spring Mountain 2-day workshop

Painting from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the Rockies
in Watercolor

Mon and Tue April 28 and 29, 2025

10-4:00 pm

$160

Discover the art of painting majestic mountains in watercolor during this immersive two-day workshop!

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced painter, you’ll learn how to capture the dramatic beauty and mood of mountain landscapes using essential techniques that bring your scenes to life with vibrant color, rich textures,
and dynamic light.

This workshop focuses on understanding how the slanted planes of mountains interact with the horizontal and vertical planes around them, helping you create depth and realism in your compositions. You’ll also explore aerial perspective,
learning how color temperatures shift along with values, intensities, and hues as you move through a landscape.

Over the course of the two days, you’ll create rough watercolor sketches for each of the two featured mountain scenes, allowing you to experiment and refine your approach before completing your final painting.

Artist Bio: Dale is an award-winning watercolorist and teacher who is passionate about capturing the raw beauty of the American landscape with the fluid stroke of a brush. Dale was 80% blind 45 years ago, but after a cyst removed from his brain, and his vision fully restored (and having to learn to walk and write again) he discovered he could see more clearly, with his paintings reflecting a purity of perception.
