@LOLA Arts Gallery
Led by Bret Miller, this free event will take place in the LOLA coffee house AKA the gallery room Thursday, April 13th from 6-9pm. Come to listen, perform, and/or jam!
The acoustic open mic will be open to solos, duos, or trios, of all ages performing in 15 minute time slots from 6-8:30. The last 30 minutes will be dedicated to a jam session, led by Bret. We will release the songs played during the jam as the date gets a bit closer.
Bret will have a 6 and 12 string guitar, congas, djembe, and other small percussion instruments available for use. An upright piano and soprano ukuleles will also be available. Folks are encouraged to bring acoustic instruments from home!
Coffee, tea, and snacks will be available to enjoy at this family friendly event.
This event is made possible in part with a grant from the Northern Arts Council. Thank you for your sponsorship.
Bret grew up in Iowa, and began singing in his mother’s hometown country church from a young age. His tastes turned to rock & roll as he became the front man for several successful bands throughout and after his college years, most notably The Pedestrians. As he grew more and more accomplished on the acoustic guitar, his tastes turned a little more toward the folk genre, and he began singing as a solo musician at several ski resorts in the Rocky Mountains. His major influences include Neil Young, Bob Dylan, John Prine, Kris Kristofferson and John Denver.
