Join paper artist, debra ketchum-jircik to learn the basics of the fine art of hand papermaking.

All materials are supplied for this class and no experience is needed.

Paper artist Debra Ketchum-Jircik will walk students through a brief history and the process of making paper by hand. Learn the basics of how to prepare pulp and fibers, pull a sheet, couching and drying to create a sheet of paper using Western sheet forming techniques.  Students will learn what they need to begin making paper on their own at home. Course participants will leave with several sheets of their own handmade paper to use in other creative projects or as art in and of themselves.

Eagle River clay and paper artist, gardener, and food advocate Debbie Jircik will share her passions for working with natural and environmentally friendly materials with LOLA students.
