Musical Theater:  A Quick Look at Who Owns the American Dream

Musical theater is one of the American art forms. Using a video and discussion format in a Zoom class setting, this three-part series will explore a variety of stellar musicals ranging from Show Boat to Hamilton whose themes reflect America’s struggle with bigotry and tolerance, the perpetual argument of nature versus nurture and self-identity.

About the Instructor – Bernie Hupperts directed drama and musicals in a high school and community setting since the early 1970s. He currently serves as the director of the Northwoods Community Players which performs radio plays and is also a drama coach at Northland Pines High School while working on the high school’s annual musical.

This workshop is open to adults/teens from anywhere in the country. Registration is required.  A Zoom access link will be emailed to all registrants prior to each scheduled Thursday class.
