Meet author-illustrator, mary uihlein and her woodland characters from the little owl series of books.
Friday, June 23, 2017 – 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Free event, open to all ages.
Mary was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. Growing up she spent much of her time outdoors, either at her family home in northern Wisconsin or traveling on family vacations. During these times of outdoor exploration, she became very aware of the flora and fauna of different regions. Much of what she learned came from her nature loving father. She is inspired by all elements of nature and brings them into her work as detailed and whimsical illustrations.
The delightful illustrations come to life on the page as the characters go through adventures and make new friends, all while exploring the natural world around them. Colorful and inspirational, the Little Owl books (8 in all) are suitable for children ages 3-7 years.
Talk with Mary about the inspiration for “Little Owl” and meet her other friends, like – Hermit Crab, Chipped Munk and Pansy Porcupine.
This event is free and open to all ages. No need to register. Light refreshments will be served. Parking is available behind the LOLA Center for the Arts.
