Basket weaver, Dianne Mockler began weaving in 1996 and soon shared her love for this traditional craft by teaching others. She enjoys working with a variety of materials and is especially interested in baskets with a northwoods theme and using natural materials native to the region, such as birch bark, willow, pine needles, and antlers. To honor her great-great, grandfather, (who owned a knitting mill in the late 19th century in Milwaukee, WI) she is now incorporating wool, wet and needle felting and other types of fibers into her basket designs. Dianne splits her time between Park Falls, WI and Central Illinois. She can often be found weaving baskets beside a trout stream while her husband is fly-fishing.
