Pastel is a wonderful medium to use in creating beautiful pieces of art. It is very forgiving as you are able to go over an area several times to get the results you wish. In this class, you will receive step-by-step instructions. Artist Lisa Krueger will demonstrate and you will then have the chance to paint. The substrate of choice is an 8 by 10″ piece of suede matboard. You will create a 4 1/2 by 7″ painting on this piece. Information about pastels, cutting the matboard to size, and how to finish for framing and framing pastels will be covered.

Basic Beginner Pastels

All supplies are included in the fee. Prismacolor NuPastels and Crescent suede matboard will be used. It’s the perfect way to explore a new medium without investing in supplies.

The class will take an hour lunch break. Please pack a lunch.
