As we continue to remain closed, following the Safer at Home order, we still have our sights set on a bright summer. LOLA plans to have our Art of Wellness summer programs and kids’ classes taught by their interns. We also plan for live music events that can be attended, including Make Music Day on June 21st. To make this possible, we are acting and adapting to new circumstances as they unfold. This might mean classes may be virtual and music events may practice social distancing, but the show will go on. We continue to press on with our mission on bringing art to the community, especially during today’s times.
“We are looking forward to new creative ways to present programming! Think – Car Park Concerts, and a Mini Music Crawl, along with working with our summer interns and teaching artists to present a variety of art classes with our health and well-being in mind. Including intuitive painting, basket weaving, line dance, theater skills for kids, drawing, felting, nature crafts, Bikes N Brushes paint day, collage series, plein air painting and much more. The classes might be on-line, outdoors or limited in number as LOLA is dedicated to following all safety precautions for our students and teachers, but we will still have fun and make art,” says LOLA Program Director Wendy Powalisz.
